Energy Audit Services
Energy Egghead provides expert inspection and analysis of residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial building envelopes. At Energy Egghead, expertise in thermal imaging is combined with knowledge of building science to accurately analyze existing conditions and make energy improvement recommendations.
| The blower door is a key instrument in conducting an energy audit. It measures the air tightness level of a building envelope and indicates the level of sealing and weatherization that needs to be done in order to make a building thermally efficient. It provides the single most important number that a building owner can have to effectively start improving overall thermal performance. Energy Egghead provides this service at a minimum and incorporates it into the energy audit model. | |

Multiple blower doors are used to create a condition of negative pressure throughout a building in order to locate areas of air leakage and thermal weakness. |

| Energy Egghead conducts roof moisture surveys to identify moisture in flat roof systems that may lead to problems and expensive repairs. Qualitative on-roof infrared moisture surveys can save building owners significantly by identifying problems early.
In order to conduct effective roof moisture surveys, it is important to have the adequate equipment. This is why Energy Egghead uses a FLIR B-400, a thermal imaging camera that is equipped with the resolution and accessories to provide our customesr with the best information possible. Additionally, having the infrared inspection conducted by a Level 1 Thermographer is crucial. Tim Gould, Director of Energy Egghead, is a certified by the Infrared Training Institute as a Level 1 Thermographer. |

| Many newer homes in New England have air duct systems with large sections in unconditioned spaces, such as attics and basements. Leakage from unsealed or improperly installed ducts can be significant and expensive. Using a Duct Blaster air leakage test, Energy Egghead can determine if the leakage is significant enough to warrant sealing and identify where leaks are occurring. | ![]() |
